Travel Insurance

Having the right Travel Insurance gives you the security of knowing that you are covered for those unexpected costs.

Sometimes things don't go to plan. Your car may breakdown or be involved in an accident, which could mean you miss your flight. You could lose your bag, passport or you could have these stolen. Worst of all you could end up having to make an unexpected visit to the hospital. Having the right insurance gives you the security of knowing that you are covered for those unexpected costs.
Travel Insurance is there to protect you in the event that something goes wrong!

What basics should my policy cover?

Emergency Medical Cover – Medical expenses can be extremely high in price, particularly in the USA. Travel Insurance is there to cover those bills. Note that if you have a pre-existing medical condition it is vital that you declare this otherwise the cover is not guaranteed, and the claim could be rejected.

Cancellation Cover – Although we don't like to think about it, sometimes unexpected events happen and as a result we are forced to cancel our dream holiday. Should this happen your travel insurance policy will reimburse pre-paid, non-refundable costs. It is important that you purchase your insurance policy as soon as you book your holiday so that cover is in place. Exclusions will apply so read your policy thoroughly.

Personal Possessions –   Travel insurance will cover lost and stolen belongings but make sure that you take good care of them. For example, if you leave your baggage unattended or in an unlocked hire car or check high value goods into the aircraft hold, the insurance company may take the view that you did not take due care, and this may affect your claim. Possessions would be classed as: clothing; cosmetics; electrical and photographic equipment; eye wear; footwear; luggage and valuables.
